SAN JOSE, Calif.

Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX) today announced that hundreds of employees will again join more than 1,000 walkers at the Walk for AIDS Silicon Valley on Sunday, October 21, 2007 at 9:45 a.m. at the Guadalupe River Park in downtown San Jose.
For more than 17 years, Xilinx and its employees have been committed to the fight against AIDS through the Walk for AIDS Silicon Valley. The company is a major sponsor and the largest Silicon Valley corporate fundraiser -- last year, the company contributed more than $35,000. To join or sponsor the Walk for AIDS Silicon Valley, visit: http://www.aidscoalition.org/ or contact Walk for AIDS Silicon Valley at 408-451-WALK. Proceeds from the walk are donated to the Santa Clara County AIDS Coalition to support HIV/AIDS services and prevention programs in the Santa Clara County.
"Year after year, employees, families and friends of Xilinx demonstrate their steadfast commitment to making a difference in our community by donating time and dollars to the Walk for AIDS Silicon Valley," said Wim Roelandts, Xilinx chairman, CEO and president. "In spite of the fact that there are more people living with AIDS in Santa Clara County than ever before, government funding for local HIV/AIDS programs has been reduced each of the last four years. Together, we're doing our part to support community service providers who face the devastating realities of this disease every day."
To kick off the company's participation Xilinx will hold its annual AIDS Walk Raffle Rally fundraiser event at its San Jose headquarters on October 18, with all proceeds donated to the Walk for AIDS. Each year, Xilinx and the AIDS Coalition of Silicon Valley (ACSV) also host the "Unmask the Mysteries" masquerade ball, where business, civic leaders and supporters of the AIDS Coalition come together to champion and help fund the AIDS fight in Santa Clara County. A total of $140,000 in donations was garnered at the third annual event held on June 9 at the Triton Museum of Art in Santa Clara. The fourth annual event is tentatively scheduled for May 10, 2008.
This year, Xilinx is expanding its support of the ACSV to encompass the AIDS Advocacy and Education Project. Among the key activities will be a survey of prominent local, national and global institutions focused on HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention and research, to seek input and guidance on how Silicon Valley corporations can contribute in a more significant way. According to ACSV board member and Xilinx employee Eddie Gutierrez, the group expects to solicit feedback from institutions such as the United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS, Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, David and Lucile Packard Foundation, and William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, among others.
